Those are my principles, and if you don't like them...well I have others.
1. TRUMP AND GODWIN'S LAW
The big argument I hear from the Left is that Trump is a dictator and "Hitler." I am reminded of Godwin's Law which states, "As an online discussion grows longer, the probability of a comparison involving Nazism or Hitler approaches." Now, I've heard the racist arguments about Trump, but the Hitler comparisons didn't come until it became clear that Trump was going to win. Without a doubt, Trump has tapped into the same sort of populist surge that carried Hitler to power in Germany. But this doesn't mean that he is an antisemitic genocidal maniac.
I have a friend who has made this Hitler comparison, and he has stopped conversing with me since I informed him that I was going to have to vote for Donald Trump. I am used to losing friends, so I'm not busted up over it. The bottom line is that I can never vote for Hillary Clinton. Seriously, the woman is campaigning under the shadow of a looming indictment. This is less about Trump than it is about Obama.
This election is forming up to be a referendum on the eight disastrous years of the Obama administration which now burns itself out fighting for perverts to have access to the ladies' restroom. The vote for Clinton by these Leftists is really a vote for a third term for Barack Obama. And as I have written previously, Trump is the result of Romney failing to deny Obama a second term.
Barack Obama is the worst president this country has ever had. How can I make this argument? I make it with hard math. George W. Bush was the previous worst president and increased the national debt by taking it to $10 trillion. When Obama leaves office, it will be $20 trillion. In eight years, Obama increased the national debt more than every president before him combined. Then, there is Obamacare which actually punishes people for being poor. Finally, all the crazy predictions from the eighties of gay marriage and perverts in bathrooms happened under his watch. This man did nothing to prosecute banksters, and this Nobel Peace Prize winner leaves office without having ended a single war or conflict except Iraq which gave us ISIS. People are unemployed and dream of being on welfare.
The American people get it. Obama has been a disaster for them and for their children. Trump is the rejection of Obama. And the Left can only respond with Godwin's Law and a criminal like Hillary Clinton. At least Bernie Sanders is a decent man with some bad ideas that would lock up some bankers.
2. HILLARY'S EMAIL SCANDAL
From everything I have read, it is obvious that Hillary Clinton maintained that private server for the express purpose of deleting damaging information at a later date. This information would be quid pro quo deals with foreigners and foreign governments where information and favors were traded for sizable donations to the Clinton Foundation. The reason she is not indicted is because the Republican leaning FBI is hamstrung by the Obama Justice Department. These are merely my own conclusions, and I cannot back them up with any hard evidence because that evidence was stored on a private server that had its contents deleted. Hillary makes Nixon look like a saint and a martyr. Meanwhile, they want to make a thing out of Trump University.
3. LIBERTARIAN PARTY
This year is shaping up to be best one yet for the LP. But listening to Mark Levin's observations of the LP convention makes me wonder how I was ever a libertarian. At one point in the convention, they debated whether government should make laws prohibiting 5-year-old children from using heroin. The LP is a dorm room bull session elevated to a political organization. The LP is less about winning than about declaring purity of ideals. The farce only makes me more of a conservative now.
People forget that the Soviet Union collapsed. Venezuela is a much needed reminder that socialism/communism doesn't work. People are starving there resorting to eating cats and dogs. Capitalism isn't perfect, but I prefer it to this government created nightmare. As for mixed economies like those in Europe, they are like people with cancer who exercise and eat a vegan diet. You can live a long time with cancer, but cancer is always bad. Likewise, social welfare states can go a long time if they have a vibrant market to feed on. But make no mistake about it. Socialism is bad for everyone.
5. Q & A
Q: What is your greatest weakness?
A: Superman has kryptonite. James Bond has women. Otis the Drunk from The Andy Griffith Show has liquor. My greatest weakness seems to be jelly beans. I even like the black licorice ones.
6. QUOTABLE QUOTES
Miss no single opportunity of making some small sacrifice, here by a smiling look, there by a kindly word.--St. Therese of Lisieux
No one who ever said to God, "Thy will be done," and meant it with his heart ever failed to find joy. Not just someday -at that very moment.--Peter Kreeft
To maintain a close relationship with the God of Love, we must remain in that Holy Presence often.--Mother Angelica
Men are generally the carpenters of their own crosses.--St. Philip Neri
7. LINKS OF INTEREST
8. ODDS AND ENDS
--It's Trump's fault when angry people show up to beat up his angry people. Yeah, right.
--Human life is worth more than gorilla life.
--If you lose a friend because you support Trump, that person isn't a friend.
--Blogs are better than Facebook because you can write anything you like and be safely ignored.
--It's fun campaigning for transgender rights until you leftist ladies have to actually share a restroom with a perv.
